Do you think we need more time for answering questions in challenges?
Sometimes there's not enough time to carefully read the code and to think about it.

Yep, I completely agree with everything you just said.
Specially about fitting text, it makes code more confusing. The easiest way to "solve" that problem is by adding more time. Anyway I think pressure in challenges is pointless, the whole point should be to think carefully and answer correctly, not to rush.

I think for long questions,it is necessary.Because more than half of time was spent on reading and understanding the question.

Yes, we need it. Because it's unfair for beginners where the challenges are brain teasing like Maths and it would take a lot of calculations and logic before it can take up the answer. There should be an option where the quiz creator can select how long would that quiz ends depends on the quiz difficulty.
Another one is that the Code Challenges are hard to read due to its placement and the syntax is not highlighted like when we create codes, just a plain white text.

If you do challenges more than 100 times then you don't need a timer, because you can memorize answers without reading the code.
The point is, if you remember the answers then you can answer in 5 seconds (which is pointless) but if you want to read code carefully, to think about it, well you don't have enough time for that so you have to rush. The only ones who benefit are those who memorize answers. I'am not saying that timer is unnecessary, I just want more time in challenges.

Courses like Java script, php need more time for real

Totally agreed. Just enough for HTML.

Yes, definitely need more time on many of the questions. Especially when you throw in recursion and iterating several times through a loop.

I would suggest that time depends on challenge. So you could have 30 seconds for an easy challenge and 3 minutes for challenge that requires long calculation.

Voja Learning is different from memorizing. Quizzes are made to also help us learn outside the courses. So, memorizing is not the real key here.

yes, and I think the time for answer should depend from the skills of players

This is one of the learning method.

Some questions should have more time, but 30 seconds is good as a baseline. You get better at iterating through simpler code fragments quickly, which I find to be useful outside SoloLearn.

I'm for maybe... An additional 30 seconds for harder questions; those of which you must analyze the code carefully. But I also think part of it is how the interface looks. I think swapping the Sans font for monospace to mark code could also make some questions easier.

I do not think so, because the time is enough for us to answer the question on the challenges, the challenge's question is approved before it is used, so I think we have enough time for answering.
Edit : May be for long question, we need more time

We need more time to answer the question of Java!! Sometimes I get such question which is so difficult to answer within the particular time although I am a beginner!!!
But I believe and think that time length should be extended for Java challenges!!

I agree. Some questions, especially where you have to "compile" the code, are hard to read fast enough.

I'm actually not sure. Today I started my first challenge with a random opponent. And I thought "this one's easy". But it wasn't and then the not even realised time limit was over. 🤔
It was kinda frustrating but then I liked this new kind of challenge and tbh in real life no-one may extend your time limit for a thing that has to be done ASAP too. In fact every lost second costs money. So, for me it's cool. Its challenging. Losing a challenge is OK to me. But what I really miss is an option to check the solutions to the questions to check why my answer was wrong. 😏
Edit: When time runs up and the question leaves unanswered it can have several reasons why. Is it bad preparation or whatever. Maybe there should be a beginner tip before the challenge starts like "you may need a coding keyboard if you are challenging someone while using android because of the time limit" or something like this. Offer help winning the challenge without telling the result.

The best we can do to solve this is, add time to Questions rating. So we can see if it fits it or not.

HZR, thanks for the info but what if the challenge expires?
