it depends on what occupation you are on. for a front-end programmer, u need to know about javascript/jquery. for back-end, u need more knowledge in php/vb.net, sql. but first i recommend you to learn JavaScript.

In your case I'll recommend to learn JavaScript after get skilled in JS you can upgrade your knowledge with learn React that based on js or Angular. With js you can develop front end and backend of applications (with Node.js), web sites, mobile applications, even desktop applications using Electron.
