There is no "better" in general.
It always depends on the usecase and some languages might fit better than other languages in this specific case.
If there would be "the best" language, we'd only need one. But there are many.

Personally I like C++ the most because of my background in scientific high performance codes.
However Python is very nice for fast prototyping and getting a first impression.
