C# or Java?

Just having a weird thought here.. If there comes a time which we need to choose just ONE language between c# or java, what would it be?

I like C# more than Java because of different aspects but if I had to choose one and terminate the other I think Java has the driving argument of bering platform independent

If the reason to choose just one language because of time limiting,for sure java is a better choice but c# is more complete and basic
