How to be motivated to code.

A couple weeks ago I was asking about which language I should start with. I decided to give python another try. Problem is I’m not motivated to do anything after I get off work. Does anyone have any advice on how to be and stay motivated to code?

Find a problem you care about which is reasonable to solve with code, possibly some task which would be very tedious to do manually. I advice you don't start with something too hard, in order to not get discouraged. Also, I found it really important that it was something I did need, otherwise it sounds like a shallow learning exercise. In my case, just to bring an example, I'm helping with keeping the statistics of my running team's mates. The web app that does that is pretty complicated to use, and very easy to get wrong. So I created a python script which automates most of that, at least the super boring stuff. If you are into video courses/books, check out "Automate the boring stuff with python", by Al sweigart
