What's the general view of programmers/programming in your country? Popular vs Unpopular.
How many students can you find in a typical programming class? Is programming taken seriously or are people still struggling with the nitty gritty of programming. Backbone v Not popular?

Close to similar thing in my country. Students get into programming but majority of them take off into other careers. Not sure why but I think the general outlook of programming has been "it's for geniuses only" which isn't entirely correct.

It's more into IT, even though i consider myself as programmer people keep asking technical like hardware and stuff ._.
At class, yes its pretty popular for like 30-40% of my campus are in IT faculty (even though we only learn program and system analyst) and only like 1-5 people each class are actually able to write program themselves, the rest . . . Well they're just go with the flow.
