started GCSE computer science year 9 learning python. python isn't optimal for game development. I was thinking of learning python in my spare time quickly whilst also understanding the concepts then learn another language. what shall I learn?I was thing c++

C++, as well as C# are great choices for game development. These two languages are actually used for scripting respectively in Unreal Engine and Unity which are the two most common free game engines available. I'd suggest you to choose one of the two and learn to code with the great amount of tutorials available online.
