Is anyone creating/submitting lessons for the free/open-source alternatives of MATLAB, like Octave/FreeMat/SciLab?

MATLAB is a paid and proprietary software, so it'd be better if some people were creating and submitting lessons for its free/open-source alternatives, like Octave/FreeMat/SciLab.
