Help me understand PHP better

Question

I just finished the PHP course and I really dont feel like I got a good understanding of just what PHP can do.

Can anybody help me to get a deeper understanding of the language?

Resources, advice, feedback, all of this would be awesome!

php is as good language. it can be used for almost any web based and command line based task or application. it probabaly is the best documented language on the planet. it can be used for personal all the way to enterprise lvl web applications. it is an interpreteted language so it may not run as fast as c++ or c#. but with php7 its not much slower. because php is a language used by so many, there are alot of bad php coded applications out on the web. but thats a developer issue. not a php issue.

It has no use. Don't learn it. Learn Node.js instead.
