is learning java enough to develop high quality apps?

In term of language Java is enough, but you need more knowlenge than the only language anyway: to develop apps ( even low quality :P ) you need to learn parts or globality of the android sdk ( development toolkit library ) for handle everything on this platform/os... Obviously, for high quality apps, you required high level skill ^^

you can make whatever you want with java.
but you have to know how to do it.

As many things ( among them languages and big libraries ) you never end learning... A life isn't enough to all know ^^
It is particulary true here, because of version evolutions/modifications which require a continue learning/formation...
