People say that methods were invented so programmers don't have to write codes again and again. I dont get it. do methods have codes stored in them? Or we can also store codes?

They are right,methods are meant for that.. They just keep data in one place. When called that data is executed or it returns something..You'll understand it at some point when you start writing code..
