hi, I think almost any computer language has been used for games of some type or other. I remember using machine language on an IBM 1620 to make the console lights chase each other. And other such ridiculous tasks, but it was fun and challenging. I have even used fortran for number guessing games. For serious gaming I would say some of The higher level languages like python, C, C++, or perl are good because there are a large librarys of graphics routines and services available. No need to keep reinventing the wheel. Also the new web page interface with CSS and HTML 5, php, and JavaScript can do amazing graphics and user interactions.
