Should I learn programming language?

I am a Electronics & Communication Engineering student. Is it good to I am learning programming language? Why good ? Or why not?

It will be of no use if u just learn to build a machine and then u will be unable to feed the software in it..and as an electronics engineer u will have much more information about the internal working and interpretation of the information in the processor of the memory, so it will be a good practice to learn programming and build very efficient programs
..because that is the advantage that u have over normal software engineers

I also have a degree in ECE, and to answer your question its a big fat YES!!!

Why? Coz its how we communicate with what we have learned. Imagine you have a project and you have all the equipment you need but you don't know how to make it do anything or even run it because you don't know any language?
