Could you please recommend hardware for a desktop computer used for programming?

I'm currently thinking about purchasing a new desktop computer and I wish it would be suitable for programming. As I am still at the middle of the learning process of Java, I can't even imagine what minimum requirements for the hardware of this computer could be... It would be great if someone gives me some tips on the topic.

You absolutely don't need 8gb, let alone 16gb for programing. Having more ram is great but it not mandatory. I'm doing some work on 4gb and never encountered any issues

Cpu.. Guess you can get i5 2500K and above dirty cheap

GPU go to passmark.com, select your budget and find something that fits your needs. Most modern GPUs will work just fine.

SSD is a nice addition that will speed up loading times and they are affordable now.
