Creating a social media newsfeed

I’m new to programming and i’m working on a project as im learning to code. My project is a social media website similar to facebook. I want to create a newsfeed that displays posts by friends/ people you follow. i was wondering how to make a newsfeed and how would it work. (What language to use and what software do i need) Answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance:)

Ali Sultan that's a nice project you got there. I suggest html but can you show me a scratch of what you've done so far?

Koder King🐱 thank you. can you please explain what is it like to make a news feed in html. from what i know html is just a markup language and i thought that a newsfeed is backend. is there a way to make the html display posts?
