What is hacking ?

What exactly happens when a system is hacked?
Does it change basic in built codes and function?
Does it give a view to system like anydesk or just collect data?

i think most of the time "hack" means get an access. it doesnt change anything, but mostly use an exploit within the system.

it also depends on which system you can get access to and how much privilege you get to see how much you can look into or change the system.

as for the intention, yes some might want your data, some might want to steal from you, or spying on you or anything basicly, even just for a prank.
