no... linux is free. there is a paid version redhat enterprise but you dont want that. it was more of a joke then an actual suggestion. but it is worth looking into. you can try a live cd which wont erase your current install of windows to see if you like it before you commit.

I know this is diverted off to games and old times but I lived in a big race track complex for 5 years and I have a Microsoft steering wheel and pedals joysticks rumblepad and the games is so good now the big differences are no damage to pay for no maintenance no storage to pay or risk of vehicle theft or any hospital stays you can have a go riding or driving in or on anything you want but you need to convince you mind it's real for the real feel to work properly Living the racetrack complex for that time and driving every type of on and off roadmachine playing with all boys toys to be able to do that safely on a PC at minimal cost in my mind is absolutely awesome . things still have a way to go before perfection and I want to see that and understand how it works my PC is still virus I'm going for the fresh install a few choice blue words start again good job I've got my username and password notebook or I would be in tears nevermind I can start my programming tomorrow once I resurrect my PC again thank you for your help particularly Jay you all have a good day or whatever you say

fair enough. linux supports steam. your entire library though may not run.. just jokes anyway. if you want / need to run windows you can. but you should try to get a more current version if you can.

lol there was quite a selection at the library. of course when asking to play the computer you had to ask to "use" the computer. if you said play they would say no its not for play.

I've looked at Linux now and I have thought about it however I have a Steam account that is 20 years old and it's got 30 games on I have so much software and settings I really cannot afford to lose I set up a separate recovery drive but that was ages ago and when you do recovery you can't guarantee it gets rid of the virus because it can go into windows.old and you have to reinstall all of your software I need to be using windows as opposed to Linux I have thousands of pounds of windows biased software and no if I met BG I wouldn't shake his hand
