Simple project ideas for a beginner. (if any)

Question

I have just completed my tutorials on C++, amazing lessons there, I have to say.
But, I was just wondering...what are some of the basic and simple coding projects that a beginner can start laying hands on to sharpen his coding skills?
At least to come out with something else than the certificate. (Am in no way downplaying the importance of the certificate)
