is making a website free with coding?

i was considering the idea of making a website for our guild on ESO.. but i have never made a website and im still learning how to code, so my question is how do i get started on making said website?

first you will need a domain name. this costs money. second you will need a host. these can be found for free.

You can host a domain name on GitHub for free. The part that isn't free is the domain (see other answer). You can get that at a place like Amazon AWS for $7.

Or if you want something easier and easier, some websites (like Weebly) offer free websites (if you're alright with advertisements).

Until now I used only for a IOT project of mine involving HTML, PHP, SQL. I don't have a particularly dense traffic going on but until now (4months) I didn't get any issues.
The domain is a little bit wierd (...... .net23.net) but considering that is free I don't feel like complaining at all.
