Can I make my career with Programming from non computer science background?

Question

I am now reading Agricultural Engineering L-2 S-1.
As every engineering there are also some programming course. But I really want to make my career as a programmer.. Then it can be possible?
if it does,what should be the steps?

Ofcourse you can. It might be/is also beneficial with the Agricultural Engineering you're studying.
