What does these arrows next to a comment or post do

They are for upvoting and downvoting.

If you press arrow pointing upside then it means you upvote/like it.

And if you press the one pointing down then it means you downvote/dislike it.

PS:use downvote occasionally .
downvoting someone repeatedly is considered as spam.
