Where i can get good open source applications for learning?

Question

I have looked at Github, It's hard to find some small ones there. I'm looking for some programs with less than 1k lines of code.

EDIT: I'm looking for real applications. not Examples.

You need to subscribe to Python newsletters like "Pycoders weekly", in those emails you may find links to 5-6 small python projects every week;), and try to find some python developers blogs
