What kind of theory subjects should I study?

Hi. I studied linguistics and I'm interested in programming to get an approach to NLP and to understand better tech things. In my career, I studied logic and cuantitative methods, but I find some coding problems hard to understand. I have read here that some people suggests to study Algorithms.

What other things could I study to improve?
