How to apply logic in programming?

I m not so good in C programming but my basics are clear. Also I m good in chess so I know how to apply logic in that but not in programming. Please help
me how to do that.

There was a time when you used to be bad at chess too. Remember how you got good at it? You practiced, and you got better, match after match. The same applies to programming, and all other fields of expertise.
