What's the best language to make a visual novel?

I already know a bunch languages like C, Python, etc. and want to make a VN to practice some high level coding.

What platform is your VN supposed to run on?

Windows for now, I am also learning Assembler, and plan on working on more low level projects in the future.
But now just Windows.
