Making a career path out of programming

Question

I've been practicing Java for about a year. Few days ago I started looking into making Android apps, too. I enjoy what I'm doing, so I'd like to get a stable career out of this.

How should I advance as a programmer? What are the next steps for me?
I don't know if I should learn more skills, make Android apps, PC software or start freelancing. I'm open to any suggestion.

If you enjoy to make Android apps, go and make Android apps. I read somewhere that Livecoding.tv is a platform where you can start broadcasting Java development and projects, maybe you can give that a try?
