Learning by reading only never works. That's why I advice you to download an environment (IDE) and practice everything you learn step by step and see the output of the code YOU write no matter what language you are learning.

Different people learn in different ways, try to identify how you learn best. Some examples are:
READING - Codes, instructions, etc
WRITING - This works for many as it reinforces the lesson
LISTENING - Aural input is processed faster than visual input by the brain. Preferred by some
VISUAL- Utube for videos, code simulators, etc
COLLABORATION - work with others, brainstorm and discuss
