Is there anyone who has learned to code even though they're really bad at maths?

Question

So basically I'm reeeally bad at maths. Do I still have hope? 😅 At school back in the days I needed some special support because I just couldn't focus and I just didn't understand anything. I was even taken to a neuropsychologist and it didn't work.
I have hard time to understand even the simplest lessons here but I really want to learn. Do you have any tips how to improve my math and problem solving skills?

To me it sounds like the 'can't focus' part is a bigger problem that the 'can't do math' part.

Imo coding requires you to concentrate. Sometimes you look eternally for mistakes. Can't do that without concentration and patience.

But maybe coding can also be a good training ground for developing these two.

I don't understand what You mean by "reeeeally bad", but I don't consider myself to be a great mathematician and I still managed to get a job as a programmer. Math teaches You to see patterns, gives You an ability to find answers, helps to learn how to build procedures.

Maybe my problem with math isn't that bad like Your is ( I'm on 2nd year studies ), but math was always causing me problems. Even though I have struggled to learn a certain pattern, I've learned to find answers by myself.

TL;DR
Math isn't "needed", but it helps You come up with ideas which You would never have before.

Don't give up on maths, try to learn some stuff on Your own, outside of school - maybe it's the school's way of teaching which blocks You from learning it. :P
