Is Java in decline?

I was wondering is Java still worth learning in 2020 onward is there still a big demand for Java developers or is this in decline. If Java is in decline what language is replacing Java and what languages should I learn instead from 2020 onward.

Short answer: yes, but it doesn't mean you don't want to learn it. Learning a new language is like using any other tool. There may be newer tools showing up, but there are several factors to consider before you judge whether you want to learn it or not. For example, Java still has a huge role in the programming world and many important areas require you to be able to code in Java. On the other hand, a language like R might be on the rise, but if you are a web developer you are probably not going to use it. The better question is, " is Java going to fulfill my needs, and is it a good choice and investment for the particular goal that i have in mind?". Yes, Java is in decline The rest of your question can be broken into two parts. What language do I learn instead of Java What language do I learn to be relevant in the future If you want to do the things that Java do but not learn Java, my opinion is learn Kotlin Read these for more detail https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/2036746/?ref=app https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/2032893/?ref=app https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/2050386/?ref=app If you want to follow the trends, most probably JavaScript, but it all depends on what you want to do.
