Q1. Seeing there is a lot of difference in the way jquery & pure js are written. Why is there no jquery challenge on sololearn?

(Jquery is so lovely and fun to learn/write. I got discouraged with js challenges and js as a whole because i had to resort to cramming most times. Completing the jquery course made my life easier. I'm currently working on this small project where i'm able to manipulate CSS with jquery and with ease. It encourages me to pick up learning the pure js)

Apart from the fact that they are different in writing (but used to arrive at the same output), the jquery is among the list of courses provided by sololearn and not by its users/community.

Q2. I would love it if jquery challenges can be added. Or is it in progress, or impossible, or was just never thought about?

@ifycode 💞 Obiagba Mary Ifeoma 💞 jQuery is just a library in JS.
jQuery can be used mostly for DOM but its not a complete langague.
Not lots questions can be asked from it.
There are many many JS libraries out there for different purposes.
Most of this libraries are great when you understand the language.
i.e how you chat on social networks using abbrevations helps write plenty in short time. But you can't use abbrevations in real life purposes like letter writing and job applications etc.

#personally i prefer using native JS most times

@ifycode 💞 Obiagba Mary Ifeoma 💞 nope its not about preferences even sql was part of the tutorials but no challenges on it.
Most senior developers, sorry to say sees substituting jQuery for JS as being lazy. (Learn Both).
jQuery Q/A is quite easy and not much questions from it.
and i believe jQuery was added to SL courses above other libraries coz its mainly use for DOM manipulation and one of the first js libraries to be widely accepted and has many users.
(I might be wrong).

I would welcome jQuery challenges too. Also other js libraries would deserve to have tutorials and challenges on Sololearn. It would be more fun.

BlackRose Mike i learnt and i'm still learning both the native js and jquery. I don't intend to substitute it. At the moment, i understand the (basic) principles of the native js which is even the reason why i got to understand jquery the instant i laid hands on it.
Only that i haven't been successfully applying native js like have been able to find application for jquery in projects.

The question is specific to sololearn i.e. only directed to the inclusion of jquery as challenges on sololearn since it was included as one of the courses to be learnt on sololearn by sololearn creators...

I think inclusion of jquery as a main course on sololearn by its creators/moderators signifies that sololearn see jquery knowledge and usage as important to learn as the native js is too, irrespective of what any other body/site/person/expert think or feel. But which could be influenced by a point you noted - wide acceptance.

Good to know that those other courses you mentioned don't have challenges too and not only Jquery.

But those other liabraries are not among the courses by sololearn. So at least, for the one they included (such as Jquery) shouldn't there be a challenge on it? Because like the native js, html, css, etc. There were questions asked at the end of each lesson.
So, not including it in sololearn challenge is a form of contribution to the encouragement of preference of the native js over use of js liabraries?
