iostream is used for standard input & output. If your code needs input or output, you include iostream. Otherwise, you do not really need to. But since output is needed for most of C++ programs, iostream is included in many C++ programs.

if i m not wrong this things are the first things to be taught in any c++ course and i know i am not wrong.
