How to get into computer graphics
When I started learning programming, one of my long term objectives was developing from scratch a simple graphical engine. Now that I consider myself an intermediate programmer, I want to start working on it, I just don't know how and where to start. Any tips on literature or anything? I know it's not easy and that it'll take some time, but I have no problem with long run projects (I have others too, some I've even finished already).

Computer graphics require some decent knowledge of maths. But first, do you want to make a game engine ? Or just a graphics design ?

A game engine is my main goal but I'd like to start exploring some other areas in the future as well. I'm aware on the math involved (it's one of the reasons I want to develop one) and I don't think it'll be a problem since I've been taking courses in math (calculus, graph theory, real analysis, linear algebra, etc) for the past 3 years in college. I know trigonometry, geometry and linear algebra are the core areas, and I'm willing the revisit a few trigono/geometry textbooks.
