Coding is everywhere. You will learn mainly PLC and embedded system.

You must learn ladder for PLC , python for raspberry (computer), C / C++ for microcontrollers (embedded system).

In my opinion C# and Java are also important because you can make supervisory software.

I agree about industrial automation. You need learn PLC Siemens (TIA PORTAL) , Rockwell and others. Learn Ladder, STL and Graph.

I mean there are others applications to use embedded systems as home automation.

Web automation you can use selleniun and python. It is also automation.
