am getting this error warning: left operand of comma operator has no effect after running following code

The comma operator has a different meaning in C++ and can not be used to apply a function (comparison in this case) to multiple elements. If you want to chain multiple comparisons together, you have to use logical operators:

However, this approach quickly becomes very tedious as the number of marks increases.
A much simpler approach would be to store the different marks in an array, that way you could easily loop over the array to find the highest mark.
