What's your favorite IDE? 🔥 (atom, notepad++, textbook, Sole learn's code playground...e.t.c..)

Open discussion on what your ideal IDE (Integrated Development Environment) is. 😊

I use Atom and Brackets mostly, I've had bad experiences with Notepad++, it is not reliable any more and I would not recommend it. Sublime is also excellent but it's not free.

I don't really like Notepad++. I prefer Brackets (brackets.io), because it kind a predicts and automatically completes your code.

It depends. When I develop in Java I use NetBeans because I find the best integrated, easy to use, graphically appealing. When I write for web I use Notepad++ or Bracket. Browser is the best for testing and debugging.

Well... Atom and Notepad++ are not IDEs, they are code editors. My favorite IDE is Eclipse. It was NetBeans some years ago, however Eclipse Neon 2 is really good. Anyway, I use code editors most of the time: Vim and Neovim, which are better than Atom or Sublime Text and of course 1000 times better than Notepad++, gedit and kate, in my opinion. VSCode is also a very good code editor, which has real time autocompletion for the latest packages of every language. Best IDEs are not free, though. I'm talking about JetBrains IDEs. Most of the things can be done in Vim and CLI (command line) tools, from the terminal. So my favorite terminal in this case is URxvt. I like this because it allows me to have a nice workflow without needing the mouse (it's distracting and not productive). «A picture is worth a thousand words»: http://i.imgur.com/Yw9OCOi.png
