I'm familiar with HTML and CSS and I have a basic idea of javascript! So what is the next move to make !??

I was thinking about php and sql which work in the backend and probably try building web applications with that. A little advice would be great :) Also why is meteor.js used ?

I would prefer going for some pet projects with the current knowledge you have and get more familiar with it before learning something new.

Well very first work on a small static prototyping level project. And after that few front end frameworks like angular or ionic along with SASS - a css processor. This will enhance your front end skills.
