HTML is short word for Hypertext markup language and CSS is cascading style sheet. CSS is style sheet so it helps HTML being “pretty”.

1.HTML provides the basic structure of sites which is enhanced and modified by css and JavaScript.
2.CSS is basically used to control presentation, formatting and layout(More like designing the "details" in your perspective to give them a cool look)
