I think. WordPress makes your website slow. Because of plugins. When we use a plug in we don't know about the code of that plug in.

HTML, CSS and Javascript code is secure and SEO friendly by default.

Wordpress can't create dynamic web applications it can just make you write or read posts. It is a WYSIWYG editor (what you see is what you get). But with html you can do much more
