How can I improve in web design?

Question

I already have the knowledge of html, css, js and others but I want to learn web design, I mean, how to choose the correct colors, the typography, where to put the elements correctly, more importantly how to create elements that look "good". Do you know of any sites where I can learn this step by step? I have programmed a few applications but they do not look good, I want improvement in this design aspect, thanks in advance
