Dilemma on Java and C !¿¿!

Question

Hey there! My friend said, if you want to learn a language, you need to specialize either in Java or in C!! That's a great and difficult choice !!
I like Java! It's really a simple yet powerful language, and have been practicing it till now!!
But, I dream to make games!! And I have heard Java is unsuitable for making great/heavy games !! Even most popular engines like Unreal and Unity use C/C++/C# !!

Can you help choosing !

Who said that you need to learn JAVA in order to specialise in programming ?

If it's game development that you want to do then go ahead and start C++.

Also if you are well familiar with JAVA then you can also switch to C# as it have quite similar syntax than that of JAVA, and C# can be used with UNITY effectively.
