Imagine someone is a doctor and he/she wants to have a website for their clinic. Now they obviously don't have time to learn web development and make themselves a website. That's why web developers are needed.

It isn't that easy to do a really good job on a website. I finished several courses here for fun and to little brush up on skills but they're too easy to make you very good at anything. A website can be a critical tool for a business. Doing an amateurish job of it can easily cost more in bad impressions and lost business than paying an experienced professional. A bad website can make a business look smaller than it really is, broadly unskilled and incapable, cheap, or like they have some trouble with nepotism. One of the worst consequences of a bad website can be security flaws and data breaches. Skilled, experienced developers are needed to prevent these mistakes. A similar question is, if Wix lets people make websites without knowing HTML, JS, and CSS, why are web developers in demand? It is the same answer.
