Skill needs to Make a full fledged social networking website.

Question

I'm a hard core VB developer. Now shifting towards web developing. Now to develop full fledged social networking site, what skills should i prefer ? HTML + CSS+JS+PHP+SQL or HTML+CSS+JS+PYTHON+SQL or JAVA+ANYTHING or PYTHON + ANYTHING Or any other option. I prefer to start from the basic.

Definitely HTML and I would also say css and maybe js or something else.

I don't have an extreme amount of experienbce, but I would say HTML, css. Definately php for server side. You may consider java. It also has uses in other places, so you can use it for more. I may be wrong, though. That is just what I think.

To my knowledge python is not used as much for that. You could try; you would be able to use it somewhere, but it may not be as widely accepted for that use.
