Is there a better thing to use then Notepad?

Question

I'm just getting into html and after doing a decent amount of the beginning using Notepad it seems to be very tedious and kinda annoying after awhile from changing the file from a .txt to a .html and change back when I wanna edit it is there something better or easier to use then this or am I missing something to make it easier?

sublime text 3 but not free, atom by github which is free . . Atom is best . . Try using atom . . see videos from YouTube
