Get selected date from user input from fom

Question

Hi everyone
I want to let user select rental dates from calendar then charge fee based on days selected.

I am struggling to get the date on the calendar from html please see code. when I manually put the start date and end date in the code it calculates the rental duration in days but when I remove the manual dates and select from the calendar code don’t run.
