Yes Sololearn is very confusing because they are just updating but not clearing old and useless things.

But I think now old users can also follow this much people in case if Sololearn don't have any limitations. Limitations in the sense time means who joined before this duration cannot follow that much people.

SoloLearn is very confusing at times. After some research, looks like old users(those who joined 4 years ago) are given this power to follow more than 5k.
While those users who joined 3 years ago and later are limited to 5K follows only.

YES, I agree with you on "I don't think there is any logic to do not follow that much people."

That threads shared by you are more than 3 years old so I think that time there was limit but now Sololearn grown too much. So I don't think there is any limit now.
