Where does exceptions get used?

These line of code are still troubling me, I'm learning the intermediate python3.

It goes like this:
Exception is an error that didnt let you complete a line of a script but it doesnt break a script completely. It informs you that your code is not ready for certain outcome and you should improve it.
To get rid of it you can go with try - except blocks, but you shouldnt just pass the exception there.
