What are the comments of this kind called?

Often, when I write in the Atom editor, it offers me comments in caps, such as NOTE or TEMP. There are 14 of them in the atom itself, but in WebStorm, for example, I saw a maximum of 2 - TODO and FIXME. My question is: how are such comments called, and are they used at all, including the additional 12 that are only in the atom?

The words don't have any special meaning to python itself, they will be treated by the interpreter just like any other comments (that is: ignored)

However, your editor may recognize them as keywords that structure your comments. You can probably search for them, maybe they will be highlighted in some way.
