Google Colab vs good Computer for Python

Hello, At the moment I am learning Python with my Smartphone. It's really tiring. I like to buy a computer and I've been browsing through different websites looking for computers good enough to run Python. Some say 4Gb Ram is enough, other say min 8Gb Ram but better 16Gb Ram. My question is directed to all professionals. Is a 4 GB ram computer enough if I use Google Colab if needed. Or should I invest money in a better computer? Thanks in advance for your time and response.

The better the computer, the more you can do with probably less waiting time. RAM is only one aspect of the computer's performance. CPU plays an important role, as does the type of hard-drive and motherboard.

Mirielle thanks for your detailed answer. What is your opinion on a computer with Intel Core i7-12700H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070Ti Mobile 140W and 32Gb Ram? I would like to go in the direction Ai. Could I use this kind of computer for a long time?
