Losing the streak
Streak is a game that helps you not forget to deal with it every day. Unfortunately, the sololearn is not flexible at all. While you are first with a very high streak if for one day you lose it you have to start from the beginning. From first goes to last. At this point you are looking to find another app and leave sololearn. If the solo devs wanted to know let's look at the duolingo though it made a fatal mistake with the last update and I predict it will lose a lot of folowers.

Is streak matters in learning?
I don't think it matters and because of this you go to another platform. Your first focus should be on learning not on streak.

stelios ,
i fully agree with A͢J .
> but maybe you can give us some more details about your doubts and fears if loosing the streak. i have had a streak of more than 1000 days and i lost it not by accident but by my own decision.
> streak seems to be a kind of status without any real value. keep focusing on learning from tutorials, repeating already learned stuff and do practicing.
> If you apply to be a programmer anywhere, no one will ask you for any streak or xp or points. only your knowledge and experience counts.

I think the sololearn app has been improved in the way that the current streak as well as the highest streak you ever reached are being shown in your profile. If you are reset to 0 you have the maximum value in mind.
But I can understand the frustration of losing a long streak. I was at almost 1000 days when I forgot to use the sololearn app for a few days. 😖

You are here to learn and practise, not to focus on some game called streak.

I believe that grades in school, scores in basketball, points in video games are not random. They are based on human psychology. So even behind the apps, the experts are looking for ways so that the customer does not leave the application. This is intended to increase profits, but on the other hand, in usable applications, it is also a support and encouragement for the user to achieve his goal. If someone has the necessity to learn python they would get a good book or a good teacher and learn. Apps serve another purpose. Good apps have designers (UX/UI disigners) who have studied the science not of building but of the psychology behind them and the customer experience. The other applications make bad copies. For me, the streak motivates me to steal some time from my jobs and not forget any of my secondary goals. You can see many examples around you in the real life.
