Asking an important question

I ask please if the AI will do all the tasks of software engineer because with logic,if an AI will do the work of a softwar engineer a company for exemple of 100 software engineer will have 90 fired and just 10 software engineer will work with the new AI program and maybe they will do tasks better if they was 100 my question is if they AI will reduce the demand or maybe it will do the disappear of software engineering? please answer me

Wilbur Jaywright no need to be sorry matey. I really need to work more on my communication skills and not expect people to read my mind with my responses! 😅

This forum is more for asking for help, not asking what has been a question of debate across the Internet for the past few months. The short answer is the least fearful one: No. In this case, no because large language models produce the most average code from cobbled together ideas that they get from humans, and a human still needs to review the code and make sure it isn’t just code-shaped garbage. Machines cannot and will never produce new ideas. Those only come from God, and machines can’t relate with Him.

I understand your concern bro, it's normal, if Ai is going to take others job, then become the one, who operates Ai.

I see it this way, why not ask AI what it thinks about the future of programmers?

Wilbur Jaywright that's my point. The OP is asking for opinions and AI would return the average of them, as you said. The last point from Hopefull Dev "In essence,..." seems fairly accurate.

Ausgrindtube it can’t think though. It’ll just return the average response in it’s training data.

AI is increasingly capable of handling certain software engineering tasks, such as code generation and automated testing, which could reduce the demand for some roles. However, it is unlikely that AI will completely replace software engineers. Instead, AI can augment their work by automating routine tasks, allowing engineers to focus on more complex and creative aspects of software development. In the future, the role of software engineers might shift towards more strategic and higher-level problem-solving tasks, with AI handling repetitive or well-defined tasks. This could lead to a reallocation of jobs rather than their complete disappearance. For organizations looking to integrate AI effectively, leveraging services like those offered by Evnedev in their product discovery phase could be beneficial. https://evnedev.com/product-discovery/ expertise in developing tailored software solutions can help ensure that AI is implemented in a way that complements and enhances the work of software engineers.
